Spice Cake

0.5 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1.5 cups sour cream (with 1 tsp baking soda dissolved in it)
1 package small dates (cut up)
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1.5 tsp cinnamon
1 cup nuts

Mix and bake in a 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
